This painting is inspired by the unique atmosphere of New York in winter. The city remains full of energy, yet the season brings a different mood—cool air, long shadows, and a special clarity that changes the way the streets and buildings are seen.
What fascinated me most was the play of light. Winter sunlight reflects from windows, stone, and pavement, creating a rich dialogue between warm and cool tones. The city seems to glow, even on the coldest days.
In this work, I wanted to capture that balance between warmth and cold, movement and stillness. It is a portrait of a city that never stops, yet occasionally offers a quiet moment of beauty through light itself.
