This painting was inspired by the kind of autumn I remember from Russia. It is that brief and beautiful time between late September and early October, when the forests are filled with gold, orange, and deep red colors.
What I love most about this season is the feeling it creates. A simple walk through the woods becomes something special. The leaves glow in the sunlight, the air is cool and fresh, and everything seems quieter and slower. For a few short weeks, the landscape feels almost magical.
With Red Autumn, I wanted to capture that sense of peace, beauty, and wonder that comes when nature puts on its brightest display before winter arrives.
